Gotta Promote This...

Because it's safe to say that the majority of people I have friended on here have found me via [AS] or more specifically Frisky Dingo I'm going to do FX and Floyd County Productions a favor by posting this here. Basically, the guys over at 70-30 started a new studio and a new show that's going to be paired with Always Sunny in Philadelphia this fall. It's best described as Frisky Dingo 2.0. With spies. Or maybe that's because the main character looks like Xander. Who knows. They've yet to disappoint and judging by this voice cast they had a much bigger budget. H. Jon Benjamin, Aisha Tyler, and even Jessica Walter are involved. (Even better since Jessica Walter's character seems exactly like Lucille Bluth!) I'm not so sure how I feel about the three-dimensional art but I have to give them credit for doing something different.

Anyways, here is the press release:

"FX has ordered six episodes of an all-new animated half-hour sitcom from creator Adam Reed tentatively titled Archer. The series will feature the voice talents of Jon Benjamin, Chris Parnell, Aisha Tyler, Judy Greer and Jessica Walter, and will revolve around an international spy agency. Nick Grad, Executive Vice President, Original Programming, FX, announced that the series would debut in the fall.

Archer is set within ISIS, an international spy agency, where global crises are merely opportunities for its highly trained employees to confuse, undermine, betray and royally screw each other. The series features the voices of Jon Benjamin as suave master spy "Sterling Archer," whose less-than-masculine code name is "Duchess"; Jessica Walter as his domineering mother and boss, "Malory"; Aisha Tyler as his ex-girlfriend, "Agent Lana Kane"; Chris Parnell as ISIS comptroller and Lana's new love interest, "Cyril Figgis"; and Judy Greer as Malory's lovesick secretary, "Cheryl."

"This project has been a great surprise for us and we're excited about adding it to our fall schedule," said Grad. "Adam Reed has written successful animated series for Adult Swim/Cartoon Network, and he has taken this format and given it a live-action feel. It is a smart, adult comedy and the characters are given voice by a terrific cast. It clearly fits the FX brand and we believe it will find support from the fans of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia."

Produced by FX Productions, Archer was created by Adam Reed & Floyd County Productions. Reed previously co-created, with Matt Thompson, the animated series Frisky Dingo and Sealab 2021.

Reed said, "I've been a fairly rabid fan of FX's original programming for a long time, so I'm thrilled by the opportunity to become a part of it, and to bring our style of animation and comedy to such a fantastic line-up. FX is the flagship general entertainment basic cable network from the Fox Networks Group. Launched in June of 1994, FX is carried in more than 95 million homes. The diverse schedule includes a growing roster of critically acclaimed and award-winning original series; an established film library with box-office hits from 20th Century Fox and other studios; and an impressive roster of acquired hit series."
